When I was six, Anthony promised we would we do a ‘Tour de France’ between my 16th birthday and his 60th. This was the year but the Étupes training camp was starting on 13 February, so we went south with Marlene and Minz the week before. We rode from Avignon to Nîmes via the Pont du Gard and from Argelès sur Mer over the border to Spain and stayed in Roses a few days before continuing to Lloret de Mar for the ‘Stage’.
